Escape the Day
There are two bands that share this name:
1. Swedish metalcore band Escape The Day is coming full circle. The septet hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, started their journey in 2007, as Mindscape. When releasing their first EP in 2008, they received immediate recognition over the internet.
After the departure of the screamer Sebastian Jarfelt, Escape The Day looked for a new screamer but never found anyone that sounded right with the music. In the process of looking for a screamer, they recruited a female vocalist, Maria Petersèn, to give the band two distinctive lead singers that they're able to carry the songs.
When spending time in the studio writing, it was clear that some changes had to be done to reinvent the band and their sound. By chance they came across the very young screamer Jonas Jenelin. Jonas made an direct impact to the sound with his style of screaming, giving the music nerve and directly fusing the legacy of Mindscape with today's Escape The Day.
In 2011 Maria Petersèn left the band to pursue her dream, as a Musical Artist. Through a friend of the band, Angeline Stenbock came in and completely changed the script. With a voice that has it's roots in rhythm and blues, soul and gospel, Angeline changed the sound even more. A great singer, she's also a very good songwriter.
Niklas Jonsson on drums, left the band in 2011. Neil Grant, an experienced drummer from Scotland, decided to give it a try.
Neil came in with a very dynamic drumming style that he's developed for over 20 years. And as the easy going bloke he is, Neil fitted perfectly with the rest of the band.
It's been a long journey for the band, that's coming to an end, only to mark the beginning of a new era. With new members and a new sound, they're awaiting new possibilities to arrive. Escape The Day is working to supersede their sound, leaving a loud impression for the world.
After a moment in silence Escape The Day is returning to kickstart 2012 with a brand new release of 'Turn Back Time' and 'As We Were Once', specially recorded for ROCK BAND 3.
Escape The Day wants to thank our former members and wishing them the very best of luck with everything that they pursue in life.

In 2005, their unreleased album Ghostless was put on hold due to the suicide of band member Florian Rehse. The band has stopped its activity and is forever dedicated to the love and memory of him.
The group consisted of two members:
